360 FOOTAGE → GAUSSIAN SPLATS

360 video to Gaussian Splat.

Turn a single 360 film into an interactive 3D Gaussian Splat.

One pass captures the whole place

A 360 camera records every direction at once, so a single walk or flight covers facades, ground, ceilings and everything you pass. You no longer have to plan which way the lens points, which is what usually decides whether a scene reconstructs or not.

DroneSplatter accepts the stitched equirectangular file with a 2:1 aspect ratio, the same export your camera app produces. Upload it as an ordinary film; the portal recognises the format and marks it as a 360 film for you.

Six camera views per position

Gaussian Splatting needs ordinary pinhole images, so a spherical frame cannot be trained directly. Every frame of your film is projected into six overlapping camera views that together cover the full sphere. The six views share one known rig, so the reconstruction solves a single rigid camera position per frame instead of six independent ones.

That rig is what makes 360 footage practical: the relative angles between the views are fixed and correct by construction, so camera estimation has far less to guess.

What works best

Keep moving. A 360 camera standing still sees everything but gains no depth, exactly like a drone hovering in one spot. Walk or fly a continuous path through the scene, keep the camera steady and avoid relying on moving cars or people for matching.

Each position becomes six images, so a 360 job uses a longer interval between frames than a standard film. The generation form shows how many positions and images your settings produce before you start.

Indoors and outdoors

A 360 walk through an apartment or an interior reaches walls, corners and ceilings in one pass. Choose the room capture type and the model is trained with flat splats that settle into planes. Outdoors, a 360 camera on a drone or a pole captures the surroundings of a site without repeated passes.
